What this service does and what it commits to
This is a plain description of the service, not a terms-of-service agreement. The binding terms are with counsel and will be published here. Everything below is an accurate statement of how the product behaves and what we commit to, and is the same description we hand to counsel.
What the service is
BarrierLog is a diagnostic accessibility monitoring and documentation platform. It detects accessibility issues, tracks them over time, supports manual auditing, and generates documentation from the resulting evidence.
What it explicitly does not do
- It does not make a website compliant with any law. No software can. It finds and documents issues; fixing them is work in your codebase.
- It does not certify compliance. Documents it generates report observed evidence. They are not certifications, and nothing produced here should be presented as one.
- It does not modify your website. The snippet is read-only by design and by test.
- It does not provide legal advice. Statements, conformance reports, and jurisdiction exposure information are generated from evidence and published models. They require review by your own qualified counsel before you rely on them.
What is included in a lifetime plan
Monitoring, guided manual audits, and regulatory documentation, within the allowances shown on your plan page, for the lifetime of the product. “Lifetime” means the lifetime of the product, not of the purchaser — if the service is ever discontinued, we commit to advance notice and a full data export.
Agency features — white-label reporting and client portfolio dashboards — are a separate subscription and are not included in any lifetime plan. We state this before purchase rather than after.
Allowances
Each plan carries monthly page-scan and beacon allowances plus limits on sites, workspaces, and seats. When an allowance is exhausted, the work is refused rather than quietly reduced — a partial scan that still produced a score would misrepresent your coverage. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month.
Refunds and deactivation
If a licence is refunded or deactivated, the account becomes read-only: crawls, markup sweeps, and beacon collection stop, and the installed snippet goes silent without you touching your site. Nothing is deleted. Existing findings, audits, statements, and evidence records remain readable and exportable.
What we commit to
- The jurisdiction exposure dataset is re-verified against sources on a 180-day cadence, and every surface that shows it displays when it was last verified and when the next check is due.
- Automated coverage is stated honestly wherever a score appears: automated rules detect roughly 57% of WCAG issues.
- Criteria without evidence are reported as “Not Evaluated” and never inferred to pass.
- The snippet never mutates your pages — enforced in code review and in tests.
Acceptable use
Monitor sites you own or are authorised to monitor. The crawler identifies itself, respects a politeness delay, and stays within your configured page budget; do not point it at infrastructure you do not control.
